The Battle of the Alazan hill and creek was fougth june 18, 1813 in the actual streets Alazan and st. Jacinto st. in San Antonio Texas to maintain the Republic of Texas free from the spanish dominium.
The Capitain Miguel Menchaca Delgado under the command of General Bernardo Gutierrez de Lara "Amparador "President of the Provincia de Tejas. Defeated the army of General Ignacio Elizondo, author of father Hidalgo's Capture and excecution in Chihuahua.

It was this glorious battle that created Miguel menchaca a heroe and gave him the title of Liutenant Colonel in the Republican army of the North June 29, 1813. In the official militia for the presidio de San Fernando de Bejar. (Today's San Antonio, Texas.) Which capitol was located in the comandancia (Spanish Governor's Palace).Commerce st. and Plaza de Armas st. downtown.
It is unusual and a motive of Tejano pride for the Texians to display the Green Flag of Texas like the one is on display in a location 1423 north San Jacinto st. San Antonio, Texas by mr. Krish, in the Menchaca steet intersection with San Jacinto st. in San Antonio, Texas during the Memorial day holyday along with the lone star and the United States flags positioned half shaft. for Memorial day, 2010.
Lets keep this practice in Memory of our Tejano Heroes. of the American Revolution 1812-1813.
Menchaca st. was named after our Tejano heroe.
Cap. Miguel Menchaca Delgado. who died Aug. 18, 1813 in the Battle of medina.
